The challenging economic situation brought about by chronic skills shortages prompted a collaborative alliance between Training Places UK Ltd, an industry trusted plant, specialist equipment & HGV training business, and Advantage42; a highly regarded strategic solutions, innovation and social impact business.

Both organisations have been actively trying to address the now chronic shortage of skills in key sectors, at the same time as reducing stubborn worklessness in target groups including ex-offenders and long-term unemployed & NEETS.

Skills42 is a social enterprise focusing on the working to upskill individuals to be work-ready in sectors including Utilities, Waste Management, Distribution, Construction & EV tech.

Over the last 18 years, our founding organisations have developed a strong and longstanding track record for working with people from these backgrounds; helping over 10,000 people in the process. As such Skills42 has the pedigree to make a positive difference to many more.

Skills42 work with an array of industry and local government partners to co-invest in local infrastructure and development projects to improve community environments including waterways, parks and public spaces. This will be delivered via our Thrive Community Infrastructure Champions initiative.
